California Sierra Nevada Judging Center: 2024 Awards, Current Judging, and Supplemental Judging

2024 Awards

The California Sierra Nevada Judging Center recently announced its 2024 awards for orchid growers in the Central Valley of California and Northern California.

The awards will be presented at the California Sierra Nevada Judging Center's annual meeting on January 18, 2024.

Current Judging

The California Sierra Nevada Judging Center meets concurrently with the Sacramento Orchid Society on the first Wednesday of the month.

Judging takes place at Odd Fellows Hall, 1831 Howe Avenue, Sacramento, California.

Supplemental Judging

The California Sierra Nevada Judging Center also offers supplemental judging for orchid growers who are unable to attend the regular judging sessions.

Judging Criteria

The California Sierra Nevada Judging Center uses the American Orchid Society's judging criteria to evaluate orchids.

The criteria are based on the following factors:

• Flower size and shape
• Flower color
• Plant size and shape
• Overall presentation
